ClubDriving MEMBERSHIP STANDARDS - Honours membership
The club's Honours award recognises an exceptional standard of roadcraft. After a comprehensive pre-drive check, a candidate for this award will need to drive safely, systematically and smoothly throughout a drive with Mark Kendrick spread over a half a day. The driver will have always handled their car sympathetically, matching engine to driven wheel speeds on each synchronised, selective gear-change ('conventional' manual transmission required). The driver will have shown flair for overtaking in order to consistently make swift progress, especially across country. The car's performance will have been exploited in making ground at the driver's discretion, and certainly within socially acceptable bounds. The driver will have been focused throughout, observations will have been deep and detailed, and anticipation sharp in predicting developments in the driving environment. The few mistakes the driver may have made will be insignificant. The driver will have demonstrated a standard similar to that required to pass a police advanced driving course, with a similar sense of pace. Police (or ex-police) advanced grade drivers or HPC 'Gold' award winners who can evidence having passed their advanced driving course/advanced instructors course/HPC 'Gold' award or reassessment within the last three years will be entitled to honours membership without assessment.
The club's half-day Honours assessment costs £95. To book an assessment with Mark click here. For the award's performance criteria click here. |
